CALNET

The Department of Technology Services offers state and non-state agencies a comprehensive collection of integrated enterprise network services through four Master Services Agreements (MSAs) referred to as CALNET. The CALNET 2 MSAs were awarded on January 30, 2007. Each MSA is a five year contract and contains an option for two one-year extensions.

The CALNET suite of MSAs provides services previously offered through CALNET 1 while introducing new services such as Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) services, Internet Protocol (IP) services and Broadband Fixed Wireless Access ( BFWA) Data services.

• The four CALNET MSAs have been awarded as follows:

  • MSA 2: Long Distance and Network Based Services - AT&T contract
  • MSA 3: IP Voice, Data, and Video Services - Verizon Business contract
  • MSA 4: Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Data Services - Verizon Business contract

This is a mainstream service.

MSA 2: Long Distance and Network Based Services - AT&T

Long distance for voice services that include long distance voice network services and functionality consisting of Inter-LATA, Inter-State, and International calling, in addition to Network-Based Call Center solutions, 900 Services, Toll-Free services, Operator services, Calling Card services, and Network Audio Conferencing.

MSA 3: IP Voice, Data, and Video Services - Verizon Business

Internet Protocol services (i.e., Network-based Call Center solutions, managed IP video conferencing and a variety of converged services) that enable the State to provide its CALNET customers with hosted turnkey Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions and a migration path to convergence as customers business needs dictate.

MSA 4: Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Data Services - Verizon Business

Broadband fixed wireless access services that include alternatives to traditional wire-line local loop service used to provide data services, and wire services through a variety of wireless technologies provided in conjunction with wired date services to form wireless-to-wired and wireless-to wireless end-to-end solutions.
