Physical Security
The DTS follows industry best practices for the physical security of its data centers. Best practices state that processes and procedures should be established to ensure a safe and secure work environment for the entire DTS workforce and to secure the systems that reside at each data center.
As a result the DTS has developed strict security guidelines, policies, and procedures. These ensure that the DTS technical resources are properly protected, that the integrity and privacy of confidential information is maintained, and that information resources are available when they are needed.
Part 1: Gold Camp Facilities
- Located in a Seismically-Neutral Area Outside the 200-Year Flood Plain
- UPS and diesel generator backup systems
- Fire detection and automatic suppression system
- 24 x 7 physical security
- A 2 port adapter with a wiring patch panel within each DTS supplied cabinet
Part 2: Cabinet
-
The DTS offers three options for cabinets:
(Option 1) Full Cabinet (approximately 42 Rack Units (RUs).
(Option 2) Half Cabinet (approximately 20 RUs).
(Option 3) Customer Owned Cabinet.
Part 3: Remote Hands
1 hour per month of Remote Hands support is included in the standard COEMS service.
Part 4: Backup and Restore - Add-on Service Component
-
There are two options for backups.
(Option 1) The DTS manages backups using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). TSM allows the customer control for the backup of data and allows the DTS to send backup tapes off-site with the other backup tapes.
(Option 2) The customer manages backups using the customer provided COEMS equipment.
Part 5: Tape Storage for Customer Provided Tape Backup - Add-on Service Component
-
There are two options for tape storage.
(Option 1) The DTS manages backups using Tivoli and sends the backup tapes to the DTS off-site facilities.
(Option 2) The customer manages backups and is responsible for tape storage. Backup tapes can be stored at the DTS off-site storage facility. The customer picks up the tapes at the DTS, removes the tapes/disk from the COEMS tape/disk drives, packs the tapes/disk in a off-site container and takes this container to the DTS off-site storage area for shipping off-site. DTS personnel will verify with the COEMS customer the backup media going off-site. Upon return of the backup media from offsite Storage, DTS personnel will again verify the media with the COEMS customer.
